School-days Continued
When last I wrote, it was in Junior High that I left the story; so it is there that we’ll pick it back up.
Ok, so now heading into High School, there were a lot of things I knew already about myself; more so then kids my own age and even older. Things like I knew I was definitely here with a purpose, but I just didn’t quite know what it was just yet. It was like a puzzle and I had many of the pieces and I was beginning to put the puzzle together to find out what the picture might be, as I didn’t have the original picture to guide me from, like normal puzzles do; so I was completely doing this by my wits, with the occasional inspiration and subtle direction given to me by people around me that somehow just made sense. Now, High School was one of the single most greatest times of my life for accomplishment wise. As a Sophomore, I took drivers ed. through the High School, we were a AAA school and had a lot of AP classes, a Vocational Training curriculum, and other advantages as a prep school. So yes, drivers ed. was the thing to do, as everyone and their dog seemed to have a car or access to one generally speaking at my school, in fact, we sort of had a joke that we had more student cars that had the new security systems then teachers did, we used to hear them constantly going off through the classroom windows in the spring. So, now at that time, i liked the government classes i had to take, and my choir classes. While in the womans chorale class, I also took voice lessons to improve my singing ability. We had all of the vocal concerts; I was also involved in drama in my Junior year and in fact had to replace my sister as a ‘grip’ for my sister for the play “The Crucible” which we put on during the fall of my Junior year. Another play I was involved in was “Camelot” a musical production. I also earned my Drama Letter from all of the hours I spent on the sets and backstage for all of the plays I helped with, so that is exciting. Also during my Junior and Senior years, I took a Cosmetology course from the local Vocational Training Center in Bremerton, WA. I got as far as a few hours shy of half way done with how many hours i needed for my certificate. My eczema pretty much shut down that idea, as after awhile of having my hands in all of the water and chemicals and whatnot, they would break out in these lil blister like bumps on my hands, so I decided to let that go, and opt for another idea of mine, which was another of my career goals; to either be a lawyer or a judge. For reasons of utter unknown comprehension, I was not able to gain my High School graduation on time, and as I was still finishing up the requirements time wise for my vocational training for my school, I did not even have the summer free to catch the 1/3 English cred. I was missing for graduation. So, I re-enrolled that fall and finished up on 3 Dec. 1992 for my actual graduation date, which was a week or so after I had received my Young Womanhood Recognition Medallion. I had already received my Seminary Graduation Diploma earlier that spring in May of 1992. So, I was by this time, completely finished with all of my early learning phase, and now was gearing up for when and where I’d go for phase 2 of my educational journey. Olympic Community College…HERE I COME!!!
